Families at Jeneece Place have one less anxiety, thanks to the generous support of eight Greater Victoria Save-On-Foods stores. Save-On-Foods delivered $800 in gift cards to Jeneece Place on Friday, December 16. This is the eighth year that Greater Victoria Save-On-Foods stores have rallied together in support of families staying at Jeneece Place.

When you’re far from home and spending as much time as possible at your child’s bedside in the hospital, finding time for a trip to a grocery store is stressful and challenging. Save-On-Foods has helped to relieve that stress by stocking the pantry at Jeneece Place so that families staying at Victoria’s home away from home have ample food to prepare meals, at any time of day or night.

“We hope to make life a little bit easier for the families staying there,” said Save-On-Foods Colwood store manager, Lionel Gjerde. “Our eight stores share a commitment to supporting important causes in our community and we are happy to come together for the families staying at Jeneece Place, and the foundation that runs this important facility.”

“Thank you, Save-On-Foods, on behalf of all the families staying at Jeneece Place while their children are receiving health care. This generous contribution will fill the pantry so that families can use food in the pantry to make their own meals between hospital visits, and don’t have to worry about grocery shopping,” says Veronica Carroll, CEO of Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island.

“Families have told us how much it means to have the support and compassion of donors like Save-On-Foods so that they can focus on their child’s health.”
