A message from our CEO on Jeneece Place

Vancouver Island family - Gabrielle family

Please see the following message from our Foundation’s CEO Veronica Carroll on Jeneece Place, Victoria’s home away from home.

Dear friend,

We have all experienced many changes in our lives over the past few weeks. As families across Vancouver Island and the surrounding islands focus on keeping their children healthy and safe during this unprecedented time, I am reminded that many of the families we serve at our home away from home, Jeneece Place, face these types of challenges every single day.

For the past eight years, Jeneece Place has been a lifeline for Island families who require access to safe and family-friendly accommodations while their children receive essential health care treatment. While these are challenging times, our team remains committed to serving these families and ensuring that their needs are met so that they can continue to focus on what’s most important: the health and well-being of their children.

I want to assure you that the safety of our families, staff, and volunteers has been our top priority as we work to do our part to help flatten the COVID-19 curve. Following the direction of our local, provincial, and federal health authorities, over the past couple of weeks, we have developed a new set of protocols for the House that covers everything from cleaning, deliveries, visitors, and more, to help keep our families safe.

I am so heartened by the dedication and leadership of our staff at Jeneece Place, who are working tirelessly to ensure that our doors remain open to those Island families who need our help now more than ever.

I would also like to extend my gratitude to our donors and community supporters who have reached out to offer their help during this time of crisis. Thank you for continuing to invest in the health of our Island kids and families – we could not do this without your support!

While I recognize that these are uncertain times, there is one thing I am sure of – Jeneece Place has been a fixture in our community for many years, and we will continue to provide a home away from home for those families who need our support for years to come.

Sincerely,

Veronica Carroll  MBA, CFRE
