Why I donate: Dale Collins explains why she gives monthly

GivingTuesday 2019 Island kids first

Dale Collins is the owner of Prosperity Planning and is one of our generous monthly donors. She has donated to Children’s Health Foundation every month for three years and offered a generous matching gift for GivingTuesday in 2018. Once again, Prosperity Planning is helping rally the community behind our fundraising efforts for GivingTuesday 2019.

Dale and the Prosperity Planning team have generously offered to donate a $5,000 matching gift. For each person who makes a gift on December 3, they will match them up to $5,000! Save the date and help us reach our goal of $10,000 by taking part here.

Read Dale’s story below to learn why she loves being a monthly donor and why she continues to help us help Island kids, youth, and families.

For Dale Collins, giving back to charities is a meaningful privilege and a reward. For three years, Dale has provided consistent support to Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island, helping Island families access essential health care. Supporting Foundry Victoria and youth mental health in particular is something close to Dale’s heart.

“When I see my monthly contribution to the Foundation, it just makes me feel thankful and grateful that I have the ability to give back,” says Dale.

Her business, Prosperity Planning, also gives back to numerous charities in the community throughout the course of the year, including Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island. Prosperity Planning is proud to put its name and support behind an organization like the Foundation and believes in the many programs it funds that help Island families access the health care they need.

Charitable giving is something the Prosperity Planning team encourages others to do, too. The company loves taking the effort to talk to its clients about charitable giving, finding out what organizations they are passionate about, and beginning the conversation around charitable giving.

“I think we can all give back and make a positive difference,” says Dale. “There’s a lot of need out there, and if I was in a situation where I needed help, I would be hopeful that members of my community would be willing to give.”

Once again, Prosperity Planning is partnering with us this GivingTuesday to generously offer a matching gift.

Dale is matching all gifts that come in on December 3 up to $5,000 in hopes the Foundation can reach its $10,000 goal. In doing this, she hopes to encourage more people to give back and make a difference in the lives of Island kids and youth.

“It makes me feel good that I am able to do something,” says Dale. “I am hopeful that it’s making a difference to some young person who needs help accessing essential health care services.”

The Prosperity Planning team says that giving monthly is an easy way to support a great cause, offering consistent, ongoing support. Plus, a monthly donation doesn’t have to be big to make a big difference!

At Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island, we know that every gift counts, no matter how big or small. When you give to the Kids First Fund, you are helping support Island kids, youth, and families living with physical and mental health challenges.
