Jeneece Place lights up to brighten spirits during the holiday season

Victoria’s beloved home away from home, Jeneece Place, is lifting spirits with a holiday light display made possible by volunteers and community donors.

Once again Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island donors Adrian and Tracey D’Silva have volunteered their time to decorate the home for the season. They have been doing so since Jeneece Place opened in 2012.

Over the years the D’Silvas, the Edroff family, Canadian Tire at Hillside Centre, and many others in the community have donated decorations and lights to brighten up Jeneece Place for the holiday season. This year the D’Silvas have hung more than 140 strands of lights, 300 blanket net lights, and over a hundred large tree decorations, many donated by the team at Canadian Tire Hillside Centre. They’ve also installed a 1000-bulb cluster light and 2 digital projectors to make the home sparkle.

“We are extremely grateful for this annual donation of time and decorations by the

D’Silvas”, says Veronica Carroll, CEO of Children’s Health Foundation. “With Covid and extreme weather events impacting families, it’s wonderful that Tracey and Adrian are helping to bring light, joy, and optimism to families staying at Jeneece Place.”
