Tim Hortons® annual Smile Cookie campaign 2023 raises $78,285.53 to support Jeneece Place
Local Tim Hortons restaurant owners have presented a cheque for $78,285.53 to Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island. The funds raised during the annual Smile Cookie campaign, May 1 – 7, 2023, support Jeneece Place, the Foundation’s home away from home for Island families to stay close to their children accessing health care in Victoria.
“This is a record-breaking donation from Tim Hortons franchisees across Greater Victoria,” declared Children’s Health Foundation CEO Veronica Carroll, “and we are thrilled and immensely grateful.”
Over the past 10 years the Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie campaign has raised a grand total of $440,885.53 for Jeneece Place!
“What an amazing commitment”, said Carroll. “Tim Hortons unwavering support has meant so much to all of us at Children’s Health Foundation. Because of Tim Hortons and everyone who bought a delicious chocolate chunk Smile Cookie, Jeneece Place continues to keep families together and close by when children are in the hospital.”
This year’s Smile Cookie Week was a festive event with Smile Cookie eating contests featuring Tim Hortons staff vs managers, and incredible community participation.
Volunteer cookie decorators included BC Highway Patrol RCMP, Victoria Grizzlies, Langford Fire Department, Pacific FC, Saanich Fire Department, Saanich Police, Sidney Fire Department, Sidney RCMP, Victoria Police, and the Victoria Royals. Even Marty the Marmot joined the fun!
“These elements all contributed to the outstanding success of Smile Cookie Week this year”, declared Carroll. “We congratulate our Tim Hortons owners, managers, and staff teams on a fantastic week, with a special shout out to the restaurant at 2950 Douglas Street for selling more Smile Cookies than any other restaurant on the Island!”
23 Greater Victoria Tim Hortons restaurants have pledged 100% of the proceeds of the annual Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign to Jeneece Place since the home opened in 2012.
