Tea at Government House – Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island says Thank You!
Last Tuesday, more than 130 Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island donors gathered at Government House. It was our chance to extend our warmest thanks to dedicated supporters who invested funds in our programs (such as Jeneece Place), and the close to 30 programs and services we fund. Together we made a difference in the lives of 13,371 children and families this past year!
Here’s a recap:
- The Honourable Judith Guichon spoke to donors about the impact Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island makes in our community and thanked them.
- Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island Board Chair, Bill Snell, spoke about how the Foundation has been growing, building, and changing and thanked loyal donors for standing by us as we changed our name, expanded our scope to increase funding to rural and remote areas on Vancouver Island and surrounding islands, and strengthened focus on child and youth mental health.
- Brian Miller, shared his story about the birth of his daughter Emma and how Children’s Health Foundation and Jeneece Place touched their lives. There was not a dry eye in the house after Brian spoke, and everyone was thrilled to meet Brian, his wife Ricci, and Emma in person.
- Children’s Health Foundation incoming CEO, Veronica Carroll, made her first public appearance and shared her excitement in joining the team and getting to know donors, sponsors, volunteers, and service providers. Veronica highlighted the Children’s Health Foundation’s long and successful history of caring for children and spoke to the Foundation’s Bright future.
